HAMPDEN, Mass. (WWLP) – Lisa Kane is a disabled woman in Hampden who depends on her service dog Sam.
They’ve grown so close that Lisa threw a birthday party for Sam at the Hampden housing authority complex where she lives. She invited her neighbors to bring their dogs to the party.
“I’m loving it, I’m loving it, I really am, It’s a good feeling, a lot of people here they don’t have pets anymore, they lost their pets and a pet’s your companion,” said Kane.
Father Timothy Murphy from St. Mary’s Parish in Hampden added to the occasion with a blessing of the animals. Sam was honored with his very own cake.
The dog’s life at Centennial Commons was indeed sweet on Saturday. These disabled animal lovers showed how precious their pets are to them.
