Heat blamed in football death

(WTLV) A Florida high school football player died Wednesday following a team practice at Camp Blanding.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the 14-year-old home-schooled student, identified as William Shogran Jr., was an athlete for the Sebastian River High School Football team in Sebastian.

Authorities said the high school team was holding a start of the season football camp run by the Sebastian River coaching staff.

CCSO says the coach called 911 around 11 a.m. after the 9th grade student became ill. He was taken to Shands Regional Medical Center in Bradford County and pronounced dead.
