Heavy rain flood streets in Agawam and Holyoke

All of western Mass. was under a Flash Flood Warning

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – At the intersection of Mill Street and Suffield Street in Agawam there were reports of flooding Wednesday afternoon.

22News saw cars driving very slowly through some deep water, but they were able to make it through. It had been a torrential downpour since Wednesday morning.

We spoke with the Agawam Fire Department and Police Department. They said there were no reports of any car accidents or stuck cars due to the heavy rain.

On our way to Mill Street, we drove down some side streets in Agawam. Everything looked clear except for some puddles in parking lots and driveways. 22News Storm Team Meteorologist Brian Lapis said Agawam reportedly got more than 4 inches of rain throughout the day.

Just after noon, we got video from Holyoke by Homestead Avenue. Lots of water was pouring into the drains along side streets with big puddles near construction sites on busier streets.

If you still see some flooded streets in your neighborhood, we want to hear from you. Email us through reportit@wwlp.com.
