SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – If you’re child is heading back to school, you might be paying more money for their supplies this year.
Some parents could be spending upwards of an extra 100 dollars this year. The tougher the economy, the tighter the school budget and with that, comes extra supplies parents need to pay for.
One parent told 22News she’s even see the physical prices go up as well. Karen Brown of Longmeadow said, “I think they can lower it I think a lot of prices are kind of crazy like for crayons and pencils, I think they’re a bit much. I don’t know, maybe they were with my kids too but I bought it anyways.
The average middle schooler will cost parents 312 dollars for school supplies this year.
