WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — One person was killed in the car crash that shut down I-84 Eastbound in West Hartford this morning. The highway has since reopened.
State Police say a motor vehicle crashed sometime around 3:40 AM, Tuesday, on I-84. Police are investigating a single car off to the side of the Eastbound lanes by exit 43.
The entrance ramp to I-84 by exit 41 was closed, off as well as the three lanes between exits 43-44 near the accident. At this time it is believed only one vehicle was involved in the crash.
As of 6:30 AM, a dark colored sedan was towed away from the highway. The highway has been cleared.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
