Rt. 20 in Brimfield closed due to car & dump truck crash

Only minor injuries reported, State Police say

BRIMFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A portion of Route 20 in Brimfield is expected to be closed to traffic into the evening commute, due to an accident involving a car and a dump truck.

As you can see from the photo from Massachusetts State Police, the side of the dump truck came down on top of the car. State Police Sgt. Thomas Ryan told 22News that there were only minor injuries in the crash which happened around 1:00 P.M. near the Springfield Boys and Girls Club Camp. That is located just east of the center of town.

If you plan on traveling through Brimfield, you should seek alternate routes. As of 5:30 P.M. the traffic was still moving slow, but both vehicles had been removed.
