Boston man arrested over deadly stabbing in Malden

MALDEN, Mass. (AP) — A Boston man has been arrested for attacking two people with a knife, killing one victim and injuring the other.

Thirty-nine-year-old Juan Buruca was arrested Saturday and several charges, including murder and armed assault with intent to murder. He could not be reached for comment in custody and it was not immediately clear if he has legal representation ahead of arraignment set for Monday in Malden District Court.

Police say officers responding to a report of a stabbing attack at a home in Malden found two victims.

One victim, 48-yer-old Jorge Alberto Machado Mejia, of Malden, died in hospital. Police identified the second victim as a 45-year-old man who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Prosecutors say the suspect is related to one of the victims and had an argument with him and other relatives hours before the attack.
