Hockey tournament benefits Kev’s Foundation

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – On July 11th, 2011, 19 year old Kevin Major of Westfield suffered sudden cardiac arrest while swimming at Congamond Lakes in Southwick.

Since then in Kevin’s memory his mother, Susan Canning established  Kev’s foundation to create more awareness about the condition responsible for Kevin’s death,”To date we’ve handed out 14 add’s, we’ve handed out ten scholarships and we’re ready to do our 14th health screening in the community in collaboration with noble hospital.”

Honoring Kevin’s love of hockey, Kev’s foundation held it’s fourth annual Kevin J. Major hockey tournament at the Amelia park rink in Westfield this weekend.
