Springfield police arrest heroin dealers and buyers

Suspects buying and dealing at Amoury Commons, at the corner of Spring and Pearl Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Police Department has arrested 4 people dealing and buying heroin Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the area.

Police received tips from fed up neighbors that drug dealers were setting up shop at the park at Amoury Commons at Spring and Pearl Street. Ironically, this is the corner of Police Headquarters.

A group of narcotics detectives led by Lt. Charles Cook arrested two dealers, 57 year-old Miguel Toledo and 32 year-old Jesus Ramos of Springfield, as well as two buyers, 47 year-old Jose Sepulveda and 25 year-old Matthew Young of Springfield. Toledo and Ramos were spotted right away dealing heroin near a dumpster. Sepulveda and Young were also arrested as they were leaving the park to shoot up their purchased items.

Detectives found 150 bags of heroin from Toledo and Ramos along with $300 cash. Sepulveda and Young purchased six bags.

Toledo and Ramos have been arrested with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiracy. Sepulveda and Young have been arrested for possession of heroin.

The four involved will be arraigned in Springfield District Court.
