Strive to achieve your ideal weight: BMI less than 25
Avoid standing for long periods
Do not wear constrictive clothing around waist
Avoid high heels: they limit the use of calf muscles
When traveling by car, train or plane:
Stay hydrated by drinking water
Wear lookse fitting clothing
Stop frequently and take short 10 minute walks
Pump feet toe to heel to work the calf muscle
Do ankle circles in both directions
