LENOX, Mass. (WWLP) – In the video above, 22News was in the Berkshire County town of Lenox when the rain started to fall. People attending a concert were unable to sit outside on the lawn due to the amount of rain.
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Berkshire and Franklin counties, Tuesday night, as storms brought heavy rain and strong winds. Both advisories expire at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The heavy rain has the potential of causing minor urban and small stream flooding, and overflowing poor drainage, which is why the advisory was issued.
The NWS Doppler radar was also tracking strong thunderstorms in northwestern Hampden, southwestern Franklin and southwestern Hampshire counties; however, there were no reports of any storm damage and there were very minor power outages for WMECo and National Grid customers.
