The nation is “fed up” with the economy

57 percent said they are willing to hold a protest

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll reveals widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the economy and the country’s political system.

According to the poll, two words sum up the nation’s mood: “fed up.” 6 in 10 Americans are dissatisfied with the state of the U.S. economy.

More than 70 percent of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and nearly 80 percent are down on the country’s political system. 57 percent of respondents told pollsters that something upsets them enough to carry a protest sign for a day.

The results made sense to one Agawam man 22News spoke with. Steven Muldrew said, “I think the government has gotten away from what it truly stood for at one point.  It’s more become money and power, and doing the kind of things for their own instead of the well being of the people that they are to serve.”

The poll is the results of 350 cell phone surveys. for information on the poll, Click Here.
