The Zipcar is coming to Northampton

Reservation are taken over the phone or online

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The world’s leading car sharing network is coming to downtown Northampton. Mayor David Narkewicz announced a contract has been signed to bring Zipcar to the city.

Two Zipcars will be available by the end of the summer in the parking lot directly behind City Hall, supplementing the six Zipcars already available on the Smith College campus.

Zipcar members can reserve the vehicles by the hour or by the day. Rates will include gas, insurance, a reserved parking spot and 180 free miles per day.

Reservations for a Zipcar will be done through a smartphone app at, or over the phone.
