Preparations for Springfield’s National Night Out

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)- On Tuesday, August 5th, neighborhoods throughout Springfield are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the Annual National Night Out” crime, drug and gang prevention event.

More than 10-thousand communities across all 50 states will be participating in National Night Out events tomorrow night.  There are about 9 National Night Out events planned for Springfield and preparations have been underway.

The idea is to bring the communities together so neighbors can get to know one another and be familiar with different ways to decrease crime rates.

Neighbors also want to strengthen the relationship between the community and Springfield Police.
Here is a list of the events taking place Tuesday, August 5th in the city of Springfield:

1. Kenific Park
