AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The University of Massachusetts continued their anti-violence campus training Saturday.

Campus Police Chief John Horvath has closed Dickinson Hall to everyone but police officers who are training to deal with any emergency. This involves a possible threat from someone who might be armed and considered dangerous.

This is the third Saturday of what’s called “active shooter training”.¬†They’ve trained every summer since the Virginia Tech campus shootings several years ago.

The UMass Summer training concludes next Saturday.
