Anti-violence training at UMass

This is the third Saturday of training at UMass

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The University of Massachusetts continued their anti-violence campus training Saturday.

Campus Police Chief John Horvath has closed Dickinson Hall to everyone but police officers who are training to deal with any emergency. This involves a possible threat from someone who might be armed and considered dangerous.

This is the third Saturday of what’s called “active shooter training”. They’ve trained every summer since the Virginia Tech campus shootings several years ago.

The UMass Summer training concludes next Saturday.
