Exploring Apple Cider Vinegar – 5 Uses for Body, Skin & Pets
Drinking vinegar for its myriad health benefits goes back to ancient Greece, no wait, even further, to 5000 BCE when Babylonians were using date palms to make vinegar. Warriors throughout history have used vinegar mixed with water for strength and energy. Vinegar drinks and vinegar tonics infused with herbs, roots, flowers, you name it, have been around for many centuries.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Raw, unpasturized, organic, is an incredibly medicinal food since it contains several different beneficial acids plus beta-carotene, amino acid, bone building minerals, enzymes, magnesium, potassium, pectin and tannins. No wonder humans have been using this super food since we figured out how to preserve apples in the form of vinegar!

Digestive aid/heartburn remedy
Heartburn due to low stomach acid is most common and adding a probiotic, beneficial acid like Apple Cider Vinegar does the trick for a lot of folks! Add a tablespoon of vinegar to 8 oz of water and drink during or after your meal. You can also take the vinegar like a shot or add honey, molasses, a squeeze of lemon to make it more tasty!

Keep Bugs at Bay!
Drinking vinegar regularly helps to repel mosquitoes but you can also make a trap for fruit flys and mosquitoes- pour ACV in a bowl with a few drops of dish soap and some water. You can add brow sugar to help attract mosquitoes. I’ve seen an inverted soda bottle trap that worked really well!

Make a toner out of one part ACV to 2-4 parts water, depending on how sensitive your skin is. The acid and the anti-bacterial properties will help clear up breakouts and keep your skin looking great! Apply after washing your face, let dry and then apply sunscreen, etc.

Hair- for people and pets!
You and your hair, skin, nails, and joints can benefit from drinking ACV daily . Or you can apply diluted ACV after washing your hair or giving your dog a bath for a shiny, healthy hair and scalp, less dryness, fewer tangles and healthier hair. Rub it into your scalp and hair and leave it in- the vinegar smell with dissipate as your hair drys.
