inFocus: 2014 Statewide ballot questions

Voters are encouraged to research the questions.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)-This election year could result in a number of changes, not only the faces in office, but four statewide ballot questions that could change how we do things in Massachusetts.

Question 1 is on the Gas Tax, a yes vote would eliminate the requirement that the state’s gas tax be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index.

Question 2 is an expansion of the Bottle bill, to require deposits on containers for all non-alcoholic non-carbonated drinks in liquid form intended for human consumption.

Question 3 seeks to repeal the casino gambling law.

Question 4 would entitle employees in Massachusetts to earn and use sick time according to certain conditions.

That’s where 22News InFocus comes in. We will be talking about each of these questions to help you understand the issues and make an informed opinion before voting.

22News InFocus airs this Sunday, August 3 at noon.
