SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)- A 16-year-old boy was shot three times on Main Street in Springfield‘s North End late Thursday night. Lt. Thomas Maccini told 22News that officers were called to 2988 Main Street for the report of a person shot around 11:30 p.m. Officers found the 16-year-old boy had been shot three times in the thigh.
He was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center, and is expected to be okay, Lt. Maccini said.
Detectives learned that the teenager was in the driveway when the shooting occurred. A black four door Honda Civic reportedly pulled up to the driveway of the home, and the driver got out and fired three times. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 30′s with a bald head, Lt. Maccini said.
Three .45 caliber shell casings were found on the ground. No arrests have been made, but police are still investigating.
