Unhealthiest chain restaurant meal over 3,000 calories

200 chain restaurant menus were surveyed

SAN DIEGO, Cali. (KXTV) – What is the highest-calorie meal you can order at any chain restaurant? Dozens of chain restaurants were surveyed, and there’s an artery-clogging winner, and man is it ever. It checks in at twice the daily recommended calories.

Red Robin is famous for tasty burgers. Now infamous for having the unhealthiest meal you can order, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

The Red Robin Monster Double Burger served with bottomless fries and a Monster milkshake is about 35-hundred calories, about double of what you should have in a whole day.

200 chain restaurant menus were surveyed and results focused on dishes and combos high in fat, sugar and calories. To walk this meal off you’d have to walk briskly for 12 hours straight. Is any meal worth that?

Here are some other high-calorie superstars

  • Famous Dave’s Spare Rib Plate
  • Chevy’s Combo Plate
  • Joe’s Crab Shack Seafood Platter
  • Maggiano’s Steak Dish
  • B.J.’s Chicken-Bacon-Ranch Pizza

The Cheesecake Factory had three dishes that made the Xtreme List:

  • The Farfalle with Chicken
  • The Bruleed French Toast
  • The Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake

A spokesman at Red Robin said they have healthier items like a lettuce wrapped turkey burger, and instead of fries, steamed broccoli.

You didn’t assume this was healthy, but you generally you don’t know how unhealthy. The federal government will soon require calorie counts on chain restaurant menu’s nationwide.
