Replica gun found in carry-on at Bradley

This is the third weapon found at Bradley this year

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury man faces charges after the TSA found a gun in his carry-on. But the gun is a replica.

The incident happened Monday when Angel Santiago, 32, was planning to fly from Bradley to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. One of the TSA screeners saw the weapon, contacted state police, and arrested Santiago.

The TSA identified the weapon as a Bruni Model 92 8mm. That gun fires blanks.Here’s a link to a similar gun.

“The accused was placed under arrest after entering the security checkpoint at Bradley International Airport (BIA) with a facsimile firearm,” State police said in an arrest report.

Santiago faces two charges: Sale, carrying and brandishing of facsimile firearms, and tampering or interfering with airports, heliports, landing fields, airways, security devices or equipment.

According to the TSA, this is the third weapon found at Bradley this year.
