Rider suffered a shoulder injury

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police made an arrest after a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle late Thursday night.

Springfield Police Lt. David Martin told 22News, around 10:00 p.m. Thursday, a car bumped the motorcycle on State Street near the intersection with School Street.

The motorcycle rider suffered a shoulder injury, but he’s expected to be okay. Lt. Martin said police caught up with the driver and arrested him about a block away.

Police and DPW crews are still cleaning up some spilled fluids at State and School streets.
