Man beaten, robbed in Springfield’s South End

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)- Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the city’s South End neighborhood Tuesday night.

Captain Robert Strzempek told 22News that a man reported to have been beaten and robbed of money in the area of 62 Margaret Street at 11:58 p.m. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center to be treated for injuries, but is expected to be okay.

Detectives are speaking with him at the hospital trying to get more details about who assaulted him.
