Holyoke power outage affected thousands

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Close to two thousands households were left in the dark, Tuesday night, since about 10 o’clock. The outage affected customers in south Holyoke, the Flats, and the Churchill Section.

Holyoke Police Lt. Manuel Reyes told 22News late Tuesday that Holyoke Gas and Electric was working on the problem after a burst of energy blew a manhole cover into the street at the intersection of Cabot and Commercial Streets.

No other information has been made available at this time, but all the power in Holyoke has been restored.
