Man accused of raping a woman during a concert

A large crowd gathered while the rape was happening

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Mansfield are investigating a sexual assault that happened on the lawn of the Xfinity Center during a Keith Urban Concert.

According to the Mansfield Police Facebook page, on July 26th, a person attending the concert went up to police and reported seeing a rape that had taken place in front of a large crowd of concert goers.

After an investigation of the area and talking to witnesses, police were able to find the alleged suspect and the victim of the assault. Police had increased security and exit gates were limited during the search.

Police said 18-year-old Sean Murphy of West Roxbury was arrested. Murphy ran into the crowd after a woman pushed him off the victim. The victim was taken away from the area and reunited with her friends after getting help.

Officers collected photos and videos of the assault taken by witnesses. Mansfield Police is interested in speaking with anyone that may have witnessed the incident or have images on their cell phone of the assault.
