SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are trying to determine what led to a man being shot on Maple Street early Monday evening.
Springfield Police Captain Trent Duda told 22News that police responding to a “shot spotter” report, found a 29-year-old man lying in front of 147 Maple Street at 5:25 pm Monday.
“We don’t know what happened, and no suspects identified so far,” said Captain Duda.
The victim was rushed to the Baystate Medical Center Trauma Center, where he was admitted and brought to surgery. Captain Duda said he was in “stable” condition.
The victim had been shot in the back one time, according to Duda. Police have not released the man’s name.
