EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Some good news for drivers and residents in East Longmeadow. The Elm Street reconstruction project is in it’s final stages.
Elm Street was in the news twice in less than a week after accidental gas leaks.
DPW Superintendent Robert Peirent gave 22News an update on the project. Final paving is scheduled for the week of August 8th, but as of Wednesday July 30th, thru traffic will be allowed on Elm Street and Mapleshade Avenue.
Crews still need to grade the road and install new underground wiring for traffic signals.
