CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Are you getting a full nights sleep? If not, a new study shows you could be facing some pretty interesting consequences.

A study from the Association for Psychological Science shows if you get five hours of sleep or less, your brain can actually suffer memory distortion. If you get less than five hours a night, your body is sleep deprived, which can cause you to create false memories.

Odalys Vlez of West Springfield told 22News, “I have a dream…like it didn’t really happen. I feel like it did, but it really didn’t, it was just a dream.”

Researchers studied more than a hundred college students and found the trend to be particularly common among that age group.
