SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A new CNN survey found 59 percent of Americans still oppose President Obama’s health care law. 22News spoke with local residents to see if western Massachusetts agrees.
The Affordable Care Act got off to a bumpy start, and while many Americans still oppose the law, one local resident who’s enrolled in Medicare told 22News Obamacare has helped him a lot. He says he thinks the reason so many people are against it is because of all the initial setbacks in Congress.
“I think if the Republicans and the Democrats get themselves together, we wouldn’t have this problem. I think it’s helping the residents,” said Dana Herndeon of Springfield.
Fifty three percent of Americans polled said they believe the Affordable Care Act has helped families throughout the country, while forty four percent said it hasn’t helped anyone.
The results show that opinions toward Obamacare haven’t changed much since the law was enacted in March.
