SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – Here in western Massachusetts, hot, sticky, humid weather is an ice cream vendors best friend.
There’s been enough oppressive weather this summer to keep the ice cream cones coming at Southwick’s Summer House Restaurant.
Owner Rick Grimaldi told 22News, ice cream sales have been so good, one day his supply nearly ran out.
“Ice cream is an impulse thing. When it gets hot, people think of summer relaxing, they just enjoy a nice cone, it’s timeless,” said Grimaldi.
Grimaldi said the good summer made up for ice cream sales that suffered during the chilly and damp spring weather.
