(KPNX) Four people died Sunday afternoon in a plane crash near Sedona, Arizona.
The crash also sparked a wildfire, which continues to burn.
Hikers reported seeing a plane crash into the side of Mogollon Rim around 3 p.m., according to a spokesman for the FAA, and the United States Forest Service found a single-engine plane around 6:15 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire, which is being called the Fay Fire, is burning in the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness area of Fay Canyon.
Two helicopters, two engines, one fuels crew and the Sedona Fire District were on the scene Sunday evening, and one hotshot crew and three helicopters are expected to respond Monday.
