(WTMJ) Two trains collided and derailed in Slinger, Wisconsin Sunday night, causing at least 60 homes in the area to be evacuated. Two crew members on a Canadian National train were injured with non-life threatening injures.
The tracks were not parallel with one another, and the trains did not collide head on. Rather, the tracks intersect each other, going in different directions, and the trains collided in the middle.
“There was lumber on the ground from a couple lumber cars,” said Slinger Fire Chief Rick Hanke. “The engines, two of them are in line with the track, one is perpendicular to the track, so there is twisted metal and so forth.”
