Barnes jets to conduct evening training flights

Missions to begin July 22, last through August 1

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Over the next two weeks, people who live in the Westfield area may notice some increased jet noise during the evening hours. Beginning Tuesday and continuing through August 1, the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base will be conducting training flights during the early evening.

According to Senior Master Sergeant Robert Sabonis, the missions will begin between 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M., and end between 8:30 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. Sabonis says that these missions are important to ensure pilots are able to respond to emergencies in the skies at any time, under any conditions.
