CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts is at risk of strong storms Tuesday night, which could bring heavy downpours and damaging winds.
A Flash Flood Warning that was issued for eastern portions of Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties has been cancelled, but a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for all of western Massachusetts, due to the risk of heavy rainfall in a very short amount of time.
A Flash Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding rains, particularly in areas such as streets and small streams. Our area could see two to four inches of rain over the next 24-48 hours. If you encounter flooding on the roadways, you are reminded: turn around, don’t drown!
