State to electe three new positions in November

All 40 state Senate seats will be up for election in November, as well

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The casino question isn’t the only election item vying for voters’ attention this November.

Massachusetts voters will elect a new governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

Steve Grossman, Martha Coakley and Donald Berwick will be on the ballot in the Democrat Primary. Charlie Baker received the Republican Party’s endorsement.

Political consultant Tony Cignoli told 22News, “This really changes the game completely. This isn’t the governor’s race they planned on 4, 5 months ago. This is the kind of question that gets people talking about the economy of Massachusetts.”

All 40 state Senate seats and all 160 House of Representatives are also up for election in November.

Springfield area voters will cast ballots for candidates who will fill the seats being vacated by Senator Gale Candaras and Former State Representative Cheryl Coakley Rivera.
