WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Traffic is flowing smoothly again Friday night on Riverdale Street in West Springfield, after a motorcycle and a SUV crashed on Route 5 near the Mcdonald’s restaurant, Friday night.
West Springfield Police Captain Thomas Wilkinson told 22News, around 7:00 p.m., a motorcycle was speeding south on Riverdale, ran a red light and collided with the SUV just south of the Mcdonald’s restaurant.
According to Captain Dan Spaulding, the motorcycle rider, 43-year-old Heriberto Robles of Springfield, suffered serious injuries and will face several traffic violations. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance.
Southbound traffic was directed onto Larone Avenue just before the Balise Honda dealership. The road re-opened to traffic around 9:30 Friday night.
