Bond denied for ex-GA Tech player

(WXIA) Investigators say the Georgia the parents who locked up their now-14 year old son in a basement room for more than a year claimed they were simply disciplining the boy at a Thursday court hearing.

After the hearing, the magistrate judge denied the request for bond by parents Recardo Wimbush, a former Georgia Tech football star, and his wife Therian Wimbush, a U.S. Navy veteran. They will stay in jail, for now.

They are each charged with Child Cruelty in the First Degree, and False Imprisonment.

Both parents admit that they locked their now-14 year old son, the oldest of ten children, in a small room in the basement of their Buford home for more than a year with o light bulb in the fixture and a jug for a bathroom.
