Keeping yourself safe from rip tides

Dangerous rip currents are present on the East Coast

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hurricane Arthur may have moved out pretty quickly, but in its wake, large waves are still crashing on the shore.

If you are thinking of making a trip to the Cape, Rhode Island, Connecticut, right now up and down the East Coast, there are dangerous rip currents.

They can pull you far out away from shore. If you ever find yourself in one, swim parallel to the shore until you get out of it.

Do not try and swim straight back towards the beach.
