MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) – The annual July 4th celebration brings thousands of people to Main Street in Monson.
Friday’s celebration included a parade, music, vendors, and the fan favorite soapbox derby race.
Lori Bear of Monson has been taking part in “Summerfest” for more than 30 years. She told 22News what keeps her coming back year after year.
“Every year since we still put it on, we have a great time, we earn money, for grants for the kids for college so it’s a good thing, it’s a good fundraiser and that’s we use it for,” said Bear.
“Summerfest” was one of few local July 4th celebrations that did not get canceled because of the weather.
