SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Fourth of July is the day to express love of country in our own particular way.
So it’s not surprising that The Greater Springfield Harriers express themselves on this holiday by doing what they love best: engaging in a good race.
Their July 4th 5-K race through Springfield started Friday morning at the Basketball Hall of Fame on West Columbus Avenue.
“It’s important to the Springfield area. It’s going on our 37th annual race; it’s a tradition we have every year,” Harrier Iwona Boruch said.
Nearly 300 men and women ran five kilometers as their way of wishing America the happiest of birthdays.
