Armed robbery suspect didn’t take any cash

Alleged suspect was arrested a short time after the robbery

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police have arrested an armed suspect after a gas station was robbed on the corner of Orange and Allen Street.

According to Springfield Police Captain Trent Duda, the armed robbery happened around 7:20 p.m. at the Wave Express Gas Station. The male suspect stole merchandise from the store but did not take any cash.

Captain Duda said that police arrested the alleged suspect a little after the robbery happened on Allen Street across from the Allen Package Store.

The robbery is still under investigation. Police are not saying at this time what type of weapon was used during the robbery.
