WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield Police are investigating an accident that sent one person to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
According to West Springfield PD Captain Thomas Wilkinson, around 5:09 p.m. Wednesday, a pedestrian was hit by a car in front of the of the Central Chevrolet on Memorial Avenue in West Springfield.
The pedestrian was rushed to Baystate Medical Center with life threatening injuries, said Captain Wilkinson. The Accident Reconstruction Unit was called and is working to determine the cause
Captain Wilkinson said the driver stayed after the accident happened to assist in any way possible. No word yet if any charges will be filed against the driver or how the accident happened.
The name of the victim or the driver has not been released at this time.
