Teen swept away

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) Family, friends and rescue crews in Cedar Rapids, Iowa are not giving up on searching a 17-year-old swept away in a storm drain, by flood waters.

Police believe three teenagers were walking near Arthur Elementary to play frisbee.

One of the teenagers was caught in water and when the second one tried to help, they were both swept into the storm drain

The 17-year-old friend that attempted to help was later found alive in a drain pipe that runs into the Cedar Lake, more than a mile from where he entered.

He was treated and released at St. Luke’s Hospital.
