(WWLP) – Tamara Sacharczyk is a multi-media reporter, I-Team reporter, and fill-in anchor at 22News. She joined the news team in July 2014.
Tamara was born and raised in East Longmeadow, and couldn’t be happier to work for the station she grew up watching!
During her time at 22News, Tamara has been named the 2015 “Young Careerist of the Year,” by Western Massachusetts Women Magazine.
Prior to joining 22News, Tamara spent time as an assignment desk and investigative intern at WHDH 7News in Boston. For a semester during college, she lived in Washington, D.C. where she participated in a cooperative work program at NBC’s Washington, D.C. Bureau. While there, she assisted reporters, producers, and directors for NBC Nightly News.
Tamara graduated magna cum laude with a degree in multimedia journalism and political communications from Emerson College in Boston. She was a host and news correspondent for Emerson’s live morning show, “Good Morning Emerson,” and a political reporter for Emerson’s TV station, WEBN.
Tamara also had the chance to interview NBC’s Lester Holt and report at the 2012 Republican primary in New Hampshire as a student reporter.
Tamara has been actively involved in raising awareness and funds for many organizations including the American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation, the Matty Fund, Rachel’s Table, the Children’s Miracle Network, the Free Your Mind Foundation, the Benjarvus Green-Ellis Foundation and the Epilepsy Foundation.
