Body discovered in Connecticut River was that of missing woman

Rebecca Streeter had last been seen alive on February 25

SUNDERLAND, Mass. (WWLP) – A body that was found in the Connecticut River last week was that of a woman who had been missing for four months, officials say.

Mary Carey from the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office notified 22News that the remains of Rebecca Streeter were recovered from the river in Sunderland last Wednesday.

The 35 year-old Streeter was last near her apartment on Camp Road in Greenfield back on February 25. Greenfield police said that her car keys, phone, and wallet were all found inside her home. Shortly before her disappearance, she had lost a young sister in a tragic way, and family members expressed concern that her disappearance could have been related to that.

According to Carey, Streeter’s cause of death has not been determined, and Greenfield and State Police are continuing to look into the case.
