COLRAIN, Mass. (WWLP) – Some roads in Franklin County are still the worse for wear, in the aftermath of last week’s unprecedented downpour of nearly five inches of rain.

22News found there was still some clean up needed on main roads near the Town Common in the Greenfield area community of Colain.

Longtime resident of Colrain, Karen Devine can’t remember that much heavy rain falling so quickly. “We looked at the rain gauge, it was 4.9; the driveway was washed away. My husband had to get out with the tractor, but there were a lot of roads washed out also.

We’re told highway crews are working as fast as they can to clean up the storm damage. Roads that had to be closed temporarily are now back open.
