NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Dozens of people gathered at Look Park in Northampton on Sunday to raise money to fight hunger in India.
Concerned Hampshire county residents from many nationalities came to support the organization called Akshaya Patra. Their cause is to make sure that no child be deprived of education because of hunger.
Neena Grover of Northampton told 22News, “This is our third year anniversary. Our goal is our children can know that we have plenty here, we can help in India.”
The international relief organization estimates that fifteen dollars can buy a year’s worth of food to fill the stomach of a hungry Indian child.
