Abandoned cats start getting adopted

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The dozens of abandoned cats discarded in Southwick earlier this month are well on their way towards being cared for in a loving home.

Authorities are still searching for the heartless person who left the cats to fend for themselves.

The Westfield Cat Rescue organization took in the cats.

On Saturday people began the process of adopting the abandoned cats at the Holyoke Petco store.

Jessica Niquette of Springfield was the first to sign up to adopt a cat, “I am a firm believer in the adoption of pets. I adopted my dog, I adopted him and Iove giving animals, they’re the most loyal I’ve found.”

The Westfield cat rescue group intends to continue its adoption process until each of these abandoned felines has been placed in a good home.
