If you have any information, call 413-787-6355

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are warning residents, particularly the elderly, to be on the lookout for schemers.

This is after an 84-year-old woman on Berkshire Avenue was tricked and had $10,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her home.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney said when the elderly woman answered the door; a man claimed his company needed to trim some trees in her back yard.

When the woman followed him into the back yard, that’s when police say another man went in the front door and stole the jewelry.

Police say don’t allow anyone in your home or yard if you haven’t invited them there.

Police are looking for a thin white man in his 30’s in connection to the robbery. If you have any information call the Springfield Police Department Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355.
