SOUTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – More than 100 golfers teed off at the Southampton Country Club Friday, all to benefit local veterans.
The 17th Annual Barnes Fire Charity Golf Tournament will benefit the veterans at the Holyoke Soldiers Home.
The tournament is a signature fundraising event for the Soldiers Home and has collected more than $80,000 over the years.
John Paradis, of the Holyoke Soldiers Home, says this tournament is pretty special to the veterans.
“What this tournament’s really about is you have airmen who are serving our country, who are giving back to veterans at the Soldier’s Home so it’s a special and very unique tournament,” Paradis said.
All donations will benefit the recreation fund at the Soldiers Home, which provides social programs for veterans.
