SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Thousands are expected to fill Springfield’s Riverfront Park on the Fourth of July for its Star Spangled Springfield celebration.
Spirit of Springfield and its sponsors, including 22News, revealed the plans for this year’s celebration on Thursday.
The Dan Kane singers will entertain at Riverfront Park just before the spectacular Gucci fireworks launched from the nearby Memorial Bridge.
Jevon Cheeks of Springfield told 22News, he’ll be there again with his family, “It’s been a lot of fun bringing the kids down there, and they have lots of stuff to do, just enjoy the music and the fireworks.”
“It sounds like a great time. Especially because it’s kid friendly,” said Michael Beaurgard of Ware.
Firework displays on the Fourth of July has become a downtown Springfield tradition.
